The alpine touring Scarpa Skookum boot is lightweight but warm. The fit tends to be on the narrow side for anyone with a wider foot, but the unbelievable warmth of the Intuition lining means you can wear a thinner sock and allow yourself more movement. The walk mode switch is easy to engage and the super-grippy tread will make you forget you’re in a ski boot when you have to hike. The booster strap is the best design we’ve seen, easy to control and very shin-friendly. The Skookum is compatible with all alpine touring bindings. We tested them with G3 Infidels with Onyx bindings. Stayed tuned for our review.
