Last month ML took a trip deep into the Ontario backcountry hinterland of Batchawana Mountain. Our ski tester Mike Wheatcroft tried out the G3 Infidel all-mountain skis with Onyx AT bindings. Here’s Wheatie’s review:
“The G3/Onyx is the lightest setup I’ve used for touring. The ski was agile, responsive and fun to play with. With 97mm underfoot it floated on top of the powder and through the crud with no issues. The short radius allows for tight turns through the trees. And when in touring mode the tip rides above the snow.
The alpine touring bindings are super light yet strong enough to charge any line hard. The easy-to-use setup changes from alpine mode to skiing mode by just using your ski pole. Multiple risers under the heel allow for even the steepest up track if required.”
Vancouver-based G3′s initial testers dubbed the Infidel a “smile factory.” Wheatie and the rest of the ML team agree.
