Secret Spots: Bruce Peninsula National Park Yurts

It’s official: the yurts at Bruce Peninsula National Park are awesome. We did the family trip up there on the weekend and even with snow and rain, had an amazing time. With a murphy bed, a futon, wood stove, skylight, barbecue and outdoor fire, there isn’t much more you need in the wilderness. The people at the park have thought of everything which means, and I hate the word, this is glamping at its finest. There is even a wheelchair accessible yurt. The yurts heat up real well in the coldest of temps and even with sub-zero temps overnight we had to open the doors to cool it down in there. The comfort station is at the most a 200 metre walk from the yurts and features hot showers and proper bathroom facilities. The yurts were completed in the fall, so this program is new to the park, and it’s a winner. Built by yourte.ca, I will definitely be yurt camping again this year. And repeatedly into the future.
